Donovan Bradley Kitching, aged 36, care of the prison, has appeared in court via video link from the prison.

A pre-trial review was scheduled for Tuesday after he had denied assaulting a prison officer.

However, defence advocate Deborah Myerscough asked for an adjournment saying that there are still some outstanding enquiries relating to witnesses.

The pre-trial review will now be held on October 13.

No application for bail was made.
