A man has been bound over to keep the peace after an alleged threesome turned sour.
Anthony James Duggan, aged 41, of Scarlett Road, had an original charge of common assault against him withdrawn after he agreed to accept the binding order.
Prosecutor Roger Kane said that the incident had occurred on November 16 at 3.40am when Duggan was said to be engaged in group sex with two other people.
abusive
Mr Kane said that issues arose that resulted in Duggan becoming verbally abusive to a woman.
He was said to have called her names, pulled her hair, punched her and headbutted her.
In a police interview Duggan denied taking part in the threesome but admitted that he was in bed with two others.
He said the woman had pushed him away and he had accidentally pushed her face then left.
Mr Kane said the woman was reluctant to take part in any court proceedings and it had therefore been concluded that a binding order was the most appropriate way of dealing with the matter.
Defence advocate Ian Kermode said: ’Mr Duggan does not accept he used unlawful violence.
’That is completely denied. There was a regrettable incident and any contact of a physical nature was either inadvertent or not caused by him.’
Duggan was bound over to keep the peace for 12 months in the sum of £500.
