Ammunition cartridges have been found at the Southern Amenity site by personnel sorting through the recycling.
A police statement on social media said: ’Ammunition is not recyclable and poses a real danger and needs to be disposed of safely and responsibly.
’Should you find any or have any unwanted ammunition, please call 631212 for advice and to arrange safe collection.’
