Police are appealing for information after a serious crash on the Mountain Road on Saturday.

At about 3.20pm on Saturday, officers attended a one vehicle crash on the Mountain Mile whereby a vehicle had left the road and was on fire.

Police, Fire Service, and Ambulance services all attended the scene.

A single male occupant was treated for serious injuries. The road was closed for several hours whilst collision investigation work was undertaken.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information relating to the driving of a red Volkswagen Polo driving in the direction of Douglas shorty prior to the incident to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
