Armed police were deployed following reports of gunshots being fired and nearly hitting someone.

Officers seized a bolt action firearm in the incident this afternoon (Saturday).
A police spokesman said: ’Officers from the firearms unit were deployed this afternoon due to a report that gunshots had nearly struck the caller.
’Due to the rural location armed fire officers carried heavy kit a considerable distance on foot before locating a male, negating a threat, and seizing a bolt action firearm.’
