A 34-year-old Douglas man has admitted being drunk and disorderly outside Bordello nightclub.

David William Prescott, of Governor’s Hill, will be sentenced on July 29 after a probation report has been completed.

Prosecuting advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court how police were on patrol on Loch Promenade on June 19 when they saw Prescott arguing with door staff at Bordello.

He was said to be swearing and pointing at them and when police spoke to him he was described as unsteady on his feet, slurring his words, and smelling of alcohol.

He was warned about his behaviour but told police: ’Arrest me then, I don’t care.’

He got his wish but then said: ’What, so I swear a couple of times and get locked up?’

The court heard that he was already on bail in relation to another matter when this offence was committed.

Defence advocate David Clegg said that he had spoken to probation services who had recommended a probation order for Prescott as he had worked well with them in the past.

Magistrates adjourned the case to allow time for the probation report to be completed before sentencing.

Bail continues.
