A man accused of brandishing an axe at TT marshals at Laurel Bank has been bailed.

Kristopher Robert Goldie, whose address was given as a camper van situated within a field opposite Laurel Bank cottage, is charged with affray and taking a vehicle on closed roads.

He appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes on Tuesday.

The court heard that Mr Goldie, aged 26, was a ’vulnerable individual’ and his mother appeared in the dock with him.

Prosecutor Roger Kane said that discussions with defence advocate Jane Gray were ongoing and that the affray matter may be dealt with in a different way.

The prosecutor said that both complainants in the case had not specifically stated that they were in fear of the defendant.

He said that bail was no longer opposed.

Mr Goldie is yet to enter pleas to the charges.

The case was adjourned for a week until Tuesday (June 18) to allow time for the charges to be reviewed.

Bail was granted in the sum of £500.
