A 72-year-old woman has failed in an attempt to have her driving licence restored early after a ban.
Anna Parsons, of Ballachrink Drive, Onchan, was banned for five years in October 2016 for failing to provide a sample of breath.
The court heard that she had previously failed in an attempt to have her licence restored in May 2019 with High Bailiff Jayne Hughes telling her it was too early.
On Tuesday her second application was also rejected by the High Bailiff.
Advocate Ian Kermode told the court that Parsons was a live-in carer for an 85-year-old man and that being able to drive would assist in taking him to hospital appoinments and with shopping.
Parsons gave evidence in court saying that she had found it difficult to find work as a carer while being unable to drive and that her current employment position may end without her licence, which would also result in her losing her accommodation.
High Bailiff Mrs Hughes told Parsons that she was still only three years and four months into a mandatory five-year ban.
Mrs Hughes said: ’I strongly suggest you do not come back before the court until at least four years has passed.’
