Scottish police now say that the body found at Dog Mills near Ramsey is unlikely to be a man missing from Wigtownshire.

Galloway officers had previously said they though the body could be that of 74-year-old Gavin Tait, who has been missing for about a month.

However, Chief Inspector Brian Lee has released a statement saying that that is unlikely to be case.

Police in Cumbria hare working on the theory it could be a missing person from that area, however officers have not released a name.
