Businesses and individuals have been fined a total of £2,430 for income tax and National Insurance related offences.

Cases were brought by Treasury to the Douglas Magistrates’ Court on December 20.

For failure to pay class one National Insurance contributions by the due date: Minimix Concrete Limited of Ballakermeen Close, in Douglas, fine £70; Motormania Limited of Castleward, in Braddan, fine £210 for three offences; The Get Gorgeous Company Limited of Nelson Street, in Douglas, fine £300 for three offences; Wise Care Limited of Malew Street, in Castletown, fine £300 for three offences.

For failure to submit personal income tax return forms at the correct time: Mark Burkitt of Loch Promenade, in Douglas, fine £350 for two offences; Paul Duckett of Bray Hill, in Douglas, fine £350; Joe Maddrell, of Meadowfield Road, in Port Erin, fine £250; Donald O’Neill of Tynwald Street, inDouglas, fine £250.

For failure to comply with a notice to submit company income tax return forms: Chemical Services (Manx) Ltd, of Balthane, Ballasalla, fine £350.

All defendents were also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs.
