This was the scene as emergency services attended a car fire in the island.

The drama happened on the Peel side of Lower Foxdale on Main Road at about 8.30pm yesterday. (Saturday).

The fire service said Peel crews responded to the fire and one breathing apparatus team was deployed to extinguish the well-established fire using high-pressure hose reels.

Crews remained in attendance for a short while after to make the vehicle safe for recovery.

Police were also on the scene and the road was closed for a while.
