A man has been fined £300 for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.

Paul Michael Dale Ford, aged 27, of Willaston Crescent, Douglas, admitted the offence and his licence was endorsed with three penalty points.

Prosecutor Roger Kane said police saw Ford in a car at Heather Crescent in Douglas on February 18. The 27-year-old was parked beside another vehicle talking to its driver.

The vehicle test centre found the car to be unroadworthy with numerous defects.

Advocate Paul Rodgers said the car was owned by Ford’s brother who was in the other vehicle and Ford had been discussing buying it.

’He accepts on that basis he was driving the vehicle. He hadn’t had a chance to examine any of the parts,’ he said.
