Emergency services attended a house in Peel after its carbon monoxide detector was set off.
The occupant of the Shore Road property was not feeling well and left their house to speak with the police who were on duty for the Peel Carnival today (Sunday).
The police promptly called the ambulance and fire crews.
On arrival, the Peel fire crew isolated the gas supply to the boiler and vented the property. They did so for 30 minutes.
A spokesman said: ’The fire service stress the importance of having gas appliances regularly serviced and having a carbon monoxide detector for both gas appliances and solid fuel burning fires.
’Carbon monoxide is odourless and colourless so you may not know it’s present till it’s too late.’
