The coastguard is asking for children and teenagers to be sensible this summer.
A post on their Facebook page said: ’Douglas Coastguards were paged at 1.40pm to children in difficulty swimming from the Peveril steps in Douglas. ’Fortunately they managed to get themselves back ashore just before we got mobile.
’This is only day 4 of the summer holidays in which we have had 5 calls ,3 of which have been to children in need of help.’
They have asked parents to make their children aware that while in the hot weather, it is fun to be outdoors, they must consider their actions and what could happen if anything were to go wrong.
The post added the warning that ’they don’t just get another life like on their Playstation or Xbox’.
