A 22-year-old man from Lancashire has appeared in court admitting possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

Dylan Thomas Evans was arrested at the Premier Inn in Douglas on June 29.

Prosecuting advocate Rachael Braidwood told the court that the drugs had been sent away for purity testing but that there was a large quantity involved.

The prosecutor submitted that the case should go to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing.

Evans, who lives at Bacup Road in Rossendale, was represented in court by advocate Sara-Jayne Dodge who agreed that the case should go to the higher court.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction and Evans will appear at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on August 6.

No bail application was made and he is remanded in custody.
