This was the damage left by a hit and run joyrider who crashed into a wall at Rushen Abbey.

But the driver of the stolen car also left some clues for the police to trace their vehicle - including part of the bumper of the purple Ford Fiesta hatchback.

Police say the car was stolen from Stenning Place in Castletown overnight on Friday/Saturday (March 20-21).

It crashed into the wall on Bridge Road, Ballasalla at about 1.30am.

The badly-damaged car was later found abandoned on Castletown promenade.
