Yesterday evening crews from the west of the island attended a fire at a house in Kirk Michael.

The Peel and Kirk Michael fire crews were dispatched by the Emergency Services Joint Control Room at about 6.35pm.

A Breathing Apparatus team entered the property and extinguished a fire in the lounge using a hose reel.

Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots and then ventilated the smoke logged property using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

Crews remained in attendance for about an hour.
