Today fire crews from Kirk Michael, Ramsey and Douglas stations attended to a telescopic handler (also called a telehandler, a piece of agricultural machinery) which was on fire in a farm yard in Ballaugh.
The vehicle was well alight and at risk of spreading to a nearby barn.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used high-pressure hose reels and a fire extinguisher to stop the fire from spreading to the barn which had livestock in.
Once the fire was extinguished crews checked for hot spots using thermal imaging cameras.
