A 33-year-old man from Douglas has been fined £200 after breaching the terms of an early release.
Christopher James Christian, of David Gray House, Drury Terrace, admitted the breach and must also pay £125 prosecution costs.
The court heard how Christian had been released early with a condition to reside at the probation accommodation David Gray House.
However, on April 6, he was said to have arrived back there intoxicated and then refused to enter the hostel.
He then ran away and was not located for around six weeks.
Defence advocate Deborah Myerscough said that her client was due to become a father and would miss out on that experience if he was returned to prison.
A letter from his partner was handed to the court.
Chair of the magistrates John Hellowell told Christian: ’We are going to give you one last chance.
’We are going to give you the opportunity to be a responsible father and that means we want you to stay out of jail.
’But we must make it clear this is the last time you are going to have this chance.’
