Castletown Coastguard were paged to rescue a dog that had fallen down an old lime kiln at Scarlett.

Two members of the rope rescue team, wearing harness and using safety lines, descended into the top of the kiln to reach the dog.

The rescue, which took place on the evening of December 21, was made more challenging as the dog had fallen down further into a sink hole.

Thankfully, the dog was saved and returned unhurt to its owner.
