A drink-driver from Colby has been fined £800 and banned from driving for one year.
Margaret Headon, whose age was not given in court, produced a result of 129 after taking a urine test. The legal limit is 107.
Headon, of Cronk Cullyn, was also ordered to retake her test at the end of the ban and pay £125 prosecution costs.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court police received a report regarding the manner of Headon’s driving on July 2 at 1.40pm.
She was stopped by police at Derbyhaven Road in Castletown while driving a Volkswagen Golf.
Headon was said to be smelling of alcohol but said that she was unable to provide a sample of breath due to a medical condition.
She said that she would provide any other sample and a urine sample was taken at police headquarters which produced the result of 129.
The court heard that she has no previous convictions.
Defence advocate Dawn Jones said that her client wanted to relay to the court how sorry she was and asked for credit to be given for her co-operation with police.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered Headon to pay the fine and costs by October 16.
