The fire service is reminding the public to be aware of the road conditions and to take extra care when driving in poor weather after a car ended up on its roof on Saturday morning.

Speaking about the single-vehicle incident on the Cooil Road near Chibbanagh Plantation, station officer Alex Rockwell said: ’On arrival, the incident commander discovered a single vehicle that had left the road and was situated on its roof in a nearby field.

’All the occupants had managed to climb from the vehicle prior to arrival and received precautionary checks from the ambulance service on scene.

’Appliances remained in attendance for a short while to ensure the vehicle was made safe ready for recovery.

’The Fire and Rescue Service would like urge the public to be aware of the road conditions and to take extra care when driving.’
