Jay Waters, aged 21, of St Runius Way, Glen Vine, will stand trial next year after pleading not guilty to causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.

He also pleaded not guilty to causing serious bodily harm by driving without due care or consideration.

We previously reported that Katie Robley, aged 19, died when the car she was travelling in, which was driven by Mr Waters, collided with a van on the Douglas to Castletown Road on October 25 last year.

His trial will take place starting on August 9 2021.

Mr Waters was bailed until the trial date by Deemster Graeme Cook at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
