A 33-year-old Anagh Coar man has been fined £350 after being found drunk in a public place.
Kristopher Coward, of Tramman Park, admitted the offence and was also ordered by magistrates to pay £125 prosecution costs.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that police were called to Glen Falcon Gardens on June 23 at 8.30pm.
When they arrived they found Coward who was said to be staggering, smelling of alcohol, and slurring his words.
He was subsequently arrested.
Defence advocate Michael Mudge said: ’It is clear Mr Coward has a problem with drink. To his credit he recognises he is at a crossroads in his life. He has lost a number of friends and family due to his consumption of alcohol but is working with the Drug and Alcohol Team.’
Magistrates ordered Coward to pay the fine and costs at a rate of £15 per week deducted from benefits.
