Businesses and individuals have been fined a total of £4,252 for income tax and National Insurance related offences.

Cases were brought by Treasury to the Douglas Magistrates’ Court last week.

Failure to pay class one National Insurance contributions by the due date:

Brookfield Consultants Limited, of Patrick Road, in St John’s, fine £280; Coffee Republic (IoM) Limited, of Victoria Street, in Douglas, fine £140; Holsan Electrical Limited, of Duke Street, in Douglas, fine £150; IoM Trade Windows Limited, trading as Regal Aluminium, of Cooil Road, in Braddan, fine £210; Miracles Limited, of Duke Street, Douglas, fine £200; Smart Wash and Valet Centre, in South Quay, Douglas, fine £400; Buck Recycling Limited, of Ballasalla, fine £600.

Failure to submit personal income tax return forms at the correct time:

Neil Marc Barlow, of Castlemona Avenue, in Douglas, three offences, fine £420; Patricia Josephine Biggane, of Church Lane, in Peel, four offences, fine £652; Ivor Edward Crowe, of Main Road, Santon, fine £350; Edward George Lane, of Brookfield Avenue, Ramsey, fine £350; Catriona Sharkey, of Ramsey Road, Laxey, fine £250; Hugh Patrick Sharkey, of Ramsey Road, Laxey, fine £250.

Failure to comply with a notice to submit company income tax return forms:

Failure to submit personal accounts at the correct time:

Edward Ewan Callow, of Bride Road, Ramsey, two offences, fine £390; Joe Hankin Maddrell, of Meadowfield Road, Port Erin, four offences, fine £460.

Costs of £125 were awarded in each case.
