Companies and businesses have been fined a total of £9,680 for income tax and National Insurance related offences.

Cases were brought by Treasury to the Douglas Magistrates’ Court last week.

Failure to pay income tax instalment payments and/or Class 1 National Insurance contributions by the due date: Azzy Paints Limited, of Kirby Farm Estates, Braddan, six offences, fine £2,160; Motormania Limited, of Castleward, Braddan, four offences, fine £1,440; Spartan Services Limited, of Castlemona Avenue, Douglas, two offences, fine £200; Wise Care Limited, trading as Home Instead Senior Care, of Malew Street, Castletown, fine £1,440.

Failure to submit personal income tax return form(s) at the correct time:

Alan Richard Blinkhorn, of South Quay, Douglas, seven offences, fine £560; Julie Brown, of Hailwood Avenue, Douglas, one offence, fine £350; John Edwin Christian, of Mountain View, Ballaugh, one offence, fine £350; William Robert Clucas, of Berry Woods Grove, Douglas, four offences, no fine;

Aleksandra Daniela Etmanska, of Woodburn Square, Douglas, one offence, fine £500; George Georgiou, of Ballakillowey Road, Colby, one offence, fine £250;

Suzanne Georgiou, of Ballakillowey Road, Colby; one offence, fine £250;

Damian Sinclair Hawley, of Second Avenue, Douglas, three offences, no fine;

Anthony James Skaddan, of Taubman Terrace, Douglas, one offence; fine £350;

James Carl Youdale, of South Quay, Douglas; six offences, fine £480.

Failure to comply with a Notice to submit company income tax return form(s): Alan Gordon (as an officer of Wilsden Properties Ltd), of Port Lewaigue, Ramsey, one offence, fine £350; Clinton John Hudson (as an officer of Panelcraft Insurance Repair Centre Ltd), of Glen Auldyn, Ramsey, two offences, fine £1,000.

Costs of £125 were awarded in each case.
