The fire and rescue service was called yesterday to free a man who’d got trapped in a confined space.

He carrying out cabling work inside a roof void at a property on Julian Road, Douglas.

He had been there for some time and was in discomfort so officers made a hole in the roof to get him out.

He was given medical assistance by paramedics at the scene.
