Two people were freed by the Fire and Rescue service after they had become trapped in a vehicle following a road traffic collision.
The Red Watch was alerted of a crash involving two vehicles on the Ballahutchin Straight, Douglas, at 1.45pm today (Wednesday).
Fire Station Officer, Brian Quirk, said: ’On arrival crews discovered that two occupants were trapped in one of the vehicles due to damage.
’Hydraulic cutting gear was used to remove one of the doors to allow the occupants to free themselves before receiving a precautionary check up by paramedics on scene.’
The Fire crew used a major pumping appliance and an enhanced rescue vehicle from the Douglas station to carry out the rescue.
’Crews remained in attendance for a short while to ensure the vehicle was made safe prior to recovery,’ Mr Quirk added.
