Crews from Douglas station responded to alarms and sprinklers that were set off at Manx Petroleum’s depot.

The crews attended the site on South Quay just before 11am today (Sunday) with an outer cordon being set up by harbour police.

Working with the Manx Petroleum staff on site, the crews identified that the alarm and sprinklers were set off due to a flame detector, within the fuel gantry, which had began operating.

Crews remained on site for about 30 minutes while both Department of Infrastructure staff and Manx Petroleum staff reset the systems.
