Firefighters were called to a house in Onchan where a boiler was well alight.
The call-out happened yesterday (Friday) at about 3pm.
Station officer Paul McEvoy said: ’Two appliances from Douglas station were called to a house fire at a property in Onchan.
’They were informed en-route that the fire was confined to the garage and that the boiler was well alight.’
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a thermal image camera entered the garage and used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
Crews then isolated oil and electric services to the garage, and checked the surrounding area for any fire damage.
Mr McEvoy said: ’In this instance the boiler was in the garage separate from the house, so the there was no damage to the home.’
