Firefighters cut a person out of a car which overturned on the mountain road last night.

The police, ambulance service and fire service were called just after 9pm last night to Guthrie’s Memorial.

They found one vehicle on its roof.

One occupant was able to get out without help.

Crews then stabilised the vehicle and used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the other occupant.

He or she was then transferred to ambulance service staff.

Crews were there for about 90 minutes and left the scene in the hands of the police, who closed the road during the incident.
