Emergency services were called out to deal with a major blaze in an industrial unit at Snugborough trading estate in Union Mills.
The call-out came at just before midday today (Tuesday).Thirty firefighters and three fire engines from Douglas were mobilised to the incident.They arrived at the scene to find an industrial unit well alight.Crews used cutting equipment to gain access through a roller shutter door.
Ten firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were deployed to fight the fire and remove cylinders.
An aerial turntable ladder was setup to monitor temperatures using thermal imaging cameras. It was also on standby as a water tower should the incident have escalated.
Fire crews were in attendance for about three hours. No injuries were reported.The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not thought to be suspicious.
