The spell of hot weather has led to a number of fires breaking out across the island.
Fire crews from Ramsey, Kirk Michael and Douglas were called to a report of a grass fire yesterday (Monday), on Kella Road in Sulby at 8.35am.
The team surrounded the fire and attacked it using 45mm hose lines and beaters. The operation took 90 minutes with the crews checking for hot spots.
Fire crews from Ramsey, Laxey and Douglas evacuated people from a house fire on Bircham Avenue Close in Ramsey on Sunday.
The teams used breathing apparatuses to fight the flames on the first floor. No-one was injured.
On Saturday, Douglas and Castletown fire crews put out a burning shed on Ballavale Road, Santon. Douglas crews also extinguished a garden fire on Rosedene Close, Onchan, with another team simultaneously putting out a bin fire in Summerhill Glen in Douglas. They found that the fire had been caused by a poorly-discarded barbecue.
Ramsey and Kirk Michael crews also got a call to a scene of a gorse fire in Churchtown, Lezayre. It took an hour to put out the flames and dampen hot spots. The fire service want people to call 999 if they see any grass smouldering.
