A small electrical fire in an artificial Christmas tree sparked a 999 call-out.
Firefighters were called at just after 8.50pm last night (Thursday) to reports of a house fire in Kirk Michael.
Upon arrival, the officer-in-charge quickly established that everyone in the affected property was accounted for and the small electrical fire an artificial Christmas tree was out.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus removed the Christmas tree then ventilated the property.
They were at the scene for about 40 minutes.
Just after midnight last night, crews from Douglas were called out to reports of a house fire in Woodbourne Square.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a smell of burning and once inside, they established that this was caused by burnt food on the hob. No action by the fire service was required.
The occupants had been alerted by a working smoke detector, allowing them to evacuate the property safely.
