The Fire & Rescue Service helped free a pony from a ditch in West Baldwin on Tuesday morning.
A statement from Douglas station officer Matt Tyrer said: ’At 11.40am today, white watch duty crew were mobilised to a farm in West Baldwin to assist with recovery of a pony that had fallen into a ditch.
’With the assistance of the owner and under guidance from a vet, crews excavated a pathway near the ditch to enable a combination of straps, ropes and pulleys to aid the horse out of the ditch to safety.
’After a quick check over "Sophie" was then led to a nearby field to continue her recovery, none the worse for her ordeal.’
