Retained firefighters from Kirk Michael donned these Hazmat suits for a training exercise in Jurby jail.

The fire crews were carrying out training on how to deal with a potential spill of a hazardous material.

Personnel using chemical protection suits and a mobile data terminal analysed spilt chemicals.

They then put in place safety zones and measures to contain the spillage.

’Crews and prison staff dealt with the situation quickly and effectively,’ a spokesman for the fire and rescue service said.
