Firefighters rescued two dogs from a smoke-filled house in the early hours today.
They were called at 2.15am to a house on the Kerroo Coar estate in Peel.
Two appliances from Peel attended.
Items had been left on top of the kitchen hob, which had filled the building with smoke
The occupants escaped and raised the alarm.
However two pet dogs were still inside the house.
Two firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the property, extinguished the fire with a hand extinguisher, and found the two dogs removing them to safety before venting the building of smoke.
A fire service spokesman said: ’Please be careful leaving items next too or on top of cooking appliances.
’Always remove pans and check to make sure that everything is turned off before going to bed.
’Bedtime routines can make a big difference and prevent unnecessary damage and potentially save lives.’
