A Ramsey teenager has admitted selling cannabis to his friends.
Matthew Boyde, of Cronk Elfin, pleaded guilty to possession of the drug with intent to supply and supplying drugs.
The 17-year-old will be sentenced on September 18 at the Court of General Gaol Delivery after a probation report has been completed.
Prosecuting advocate James Robinson told the court that police executed a search warrant at Boyde’s home on March 31.
In his bedroom a number of small amounts of cannabis were found in a tin in snap bags.
When interviewed by police, Boyde said that he bought the drug in bulk and separated it into one gram bags for his own use but also to sell to friends.
The total amount of cannabis found was 14.6 grams
Mr Robinson said that the case would have to be committed to the higher court as confiscation orders could only be made under the Proceeds of Crime Act at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
Defence advocate Jane Gray said that a basis of plea would be submitted before sentencing.
Magistrates ruled that they would have kept the case in the lower court for sentencing if it were not for the Proceeds of Crime Act requirement and this will be noted by the Deemster at sentencing.
Bail continues in the sum of £250.
