A Ramsey man has admitting indecently assaulting a man as he slept.

Juan John Christopher Brown, of Bircham Avenue, was committed to the Court of General Gaol for sentencing.

The court heard how the victim had been at a party in Ramsey which Brown had also been attending on July 31.

The victim left at around midnight and went to Brown’s home where he was staying the night.

He said that he took a sleeping tablet and anti-depression prescription medication before going to bed.

Brown, aged 22, stayed at the party but left at about 4am returning to his home.

He was then said to have climbed into the same bed as the victim, who awoke to find Brown performing a sex act on him. When interviewed Brown said he could not remember the incident but admitted he must have done it in light of the evidence.

The court heard he had no previous convictions.

Defence advocate Stephen Wood said that a basis of plea may be entered but made no application for bail.

Brown will appear at the higher court on January 28.
