A man found with £12.56 worth of cannabis has been warned he could face jail.

Wayne Vincent Dale, 28, of Glen Mooar, Laxey, admitted possessing two grammes of the drug.

The offence puts him in breach of a two-year suspended sentence imposed in August 2017.

He is also in breach of a suspended sentence supervision order.

Dale will be sentenced on April 2 after a probation report has been compiled.

Prosecutor James Robinson told the court how police called at Dale’s home on January 28 after information was received regarding the use of the drug.Dale appeared at a bathroom window but refused to let the police in.

Officers threatened to force entry but Dale continued to deny them access.

They subsequently forced their way inside and a search of the property found just over two grammes of cannabis.

Defence advocate Paul Glover asked for a probation report to be prepared before sentencing.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered that the report consider all options, including custody.

Bail was granted in the sum of £500.
