The lifeboat was launched following reports of an unconscious crewman on a fishing vessel in Douglas harbour.

Douglas all-weather lifeboat Marine Engineer was launched at 1pm today (Monday) to attend to the crewman who had passed out on the deck of a fishing boat moored at the Fort Anne jetty.

Arriving alongside the fishing vessel, volunteer lifeboat crewmen Peter Washington and Ed Christian went aboard to assess the casualty who by this time had regained consciousness.

Having established there were no other injuries requiring immediate attention and with only ladder access to the top of the Fort Anne jetty, it was decided to transfer the casualty to the lifeboat.

He was taken across the harbour to the liner berth where an ambulance was waiting.
