Douglas lifeboat was launched following a report of a possible upturned boat.

A member of the public had called the Coastguard at about 3pm yesterday (Saturday) to report what they believed to be an upturned vessel in the sea off Marine Drive.

The RNLI all-weather lifeboat Marine Engineer was launched under the command of volunteer Coxswain Neal Corran to assist the Coastguards who were already on Marine Drive.

The lifeboat crew conducted a shoreline search as far south as Little Ness then moving a little further out to sea, continued their search back to the toll gate.

With nothing being seen or found the lifeboat was stood down at 3.25pm by the Coastguard.
