A 42-year-old man from Liverpool has admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

Michael Stephen Clohessy, of Roxburgh Street, was caught with 18.6 grams of the drug worth £1,900.

Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon submitted that the case was too serious for summary court and that it should be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

The drugs were found during a police search of a room at New Manila Rooms at Marathon Terrace in Douglas on January 3.

High Bailiff Jayne Hughes agreed that the case should go to the higher court for sentencing.

He will appear at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on January 17.

No bail application was made and Clohessy was remanded in custody.
