A 30-year-old man accused of being involved in a stabbing in Ramsey has appeared in court via video link from the prison.

Stephen Paul Binding, of Mooragh Promenade, is charged with two counts of unlawfully and maliciously wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and one count of property damage.

He is yet to enter pleas to the charges.

We previously reported that a female and a policeman were treated in hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries they each sustained during an alleged struggle with Mr Binding, who was also treated for self-inflicted serious injuries to his neck on September 12.

On Tuesday, Mr Binding was represented in court by advocate Deborah Myerscough.

The first two offences can only be heard at the Court of General Gaol Delivery and committal proceedings will be held on November 23.

The case will be due for mention on October 26.

No bail application was made and he is remanded in custody.
