A Port Erin man has admitted importing £432 worth of cannabis to the island as well as possessing valium.
Kevin James Crellin, of Ponyfields, pleaded guilty in magistrates court to three offences of production of cannabis to the island, possession of cannabis, and possession of valium.
The 29-year-old will be sentenced on November 7 after the preparation of a probation report, which will consider all options, including custody.
Prosecutor Michael Jelski told the court how, on August 18, police were called to the southern post sorting office and seized a suspicious package addressed to Crellin at his home address.
The package was opened after a sniffer dog indicated that it may contain drugs.
It was found to contain cannabis bush weighing 21.6 grams, said to have a street value of £432.
Crellin was arrested at his home and a search there found 24.6 grams of cannabis worth £118.49, as well as two diazepam tablets.
During a police interview Crellin admitted ordering the drugs on the internet.
Mr Jelski said that the case was just about suitable to remain in summary court as Crellin had no previous drug-related convictions.
Legal aid was granted after Crellin took the stand and confirmed under oath that he had no income.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500.
