A Peel man has admitted being involved in importing £36,000-worth of cannabis to the island.
Gerard John Paul Thomas, aged 53, of Reayrt Aalin, pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in production of the drug to the island, two of attempting to possess cannabis with intent to supply, and one of possession of cannabis.
Prosecuting advocate James Robinson told the court that cannabis resin weighing 996.2 grams valued at £5,688, and cannabis bush weighing 1,021.6 grams, worth £30,648, had been seized by police on December 4.
Mr Robinson submitted that the case should be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing.
Defence advocate Stephen Wood agreed and said that a basis of plea would likely be submitted before sentencing.
Magistrates committed Thomas to the higher court where he will appear on February 26.
A probation report will also be prepared before sentencing.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions to live at his home address, contact probation and not leave the island without court consent.
