A man involved with offences in relation to a report of a stabbing incident that occurred in Ramsey on Sunday, September 12, has appeared in court.
Stephen Paul Binding, aged 30, of Princess Avenue, Douglas, has been charged with two counts of unlawfully and maliciously wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and one count of property damage.
The case has been adjourned until September 28 at the request of advocate Deborah Myerscough who asked for time to go through the case papers which had only just been released.
A female and a policeman were treated in hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries they each sustained during an alleged struggle with Mr Binding, who was also treated for self-inflicted serious injuries to his neck.
He has been in police custody and appeared in Douglas Courthouse this afternoon.
No application for bail was made and Mr Binding will be remanded in custody.
Police have asked that the public refrain from making comment on social media about the incident in order to protect any future court proceedings and to avoid upset for all involved.
