A man has been charged with manslaughter after a tragedy in August.
On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, air conditioning engineer Gary Skelding, aged 56, died on a building site within King William’s College, Castletown.
The police and the government’s health and safety officers have conducted a joint investigation into the matter.
A 36-year-old local man has been charged with manslaughter and Health & Safety Act offences.
There will also be further matters brought before the court in relation to this and police that cannot currently be made public.
Detective Inspector Michelle McKillop said: ’This was a tragic event and it has affected many people, this includes people who were present and witnessed what happened as well as his wife, family and friends.
’I would ask the public regardless of their level of knowledge of the incident or those involved, to refrain from posting anything on social media that may be detrimental to the case and may also cause upset for the family and friends of all those involved.’
