A man has appeared before the High Bailiff this week charged with breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).

Andrew Mark Byrne, aged 42, of David Gray House, Drury Terrace, Douglas, has denied breaching the order by accessing pictures of children under the age of 16 online.

He is accused of accessing pictures of child stars, Ellis Naylor from Waffle the Wonder Dog and Dan Lloyd the child in the 1980 film The Shining, on a computer at David Gray House on May 26.

In August 2015 Byrne was jailed for five years and five months for indecently assaulting a child and possessing indecent images and videos of children.

His sentence was extended by two months in July 2016 for having movie pictures featuring children in his cell.

A pre-trial review will be held on July 2.
