A 38-year-old Douglas man has admitted two offence of driving while disqualified and having no insurance.

Paul Craig, of Johnny Watterson’s Lane, will be sentenced on February 8 after the preparation of a probation report.

Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court how, on October 9 at 8.30am, the police saw Craig driving a Mercedes along Braddan Road.

Checks revealed he had been disqualified in June 2014 with a condition to retake his test after the ban ended but had never done so.

When police spoke to Craig he admitted he had not retaken his test.

Defending him in court his advocate Ian Kermode asked for the adjournment to allow time for the preparation of the probation report.

Bail continues with a condition that Craig reside at his home address and contact probation services.
